When I was asked to write a bio about myself and my art, I won't                             lie, I procrastinated over a good few weeks...… I mean, what                             artist wants to 'big themselves up?'.

....on a sunny Sunday afternoon, my husband and I decided, ad-                             hoc, to get on his vintage lambretta (incidentally named Helga after my wonderful, dearly departed mum) and head towards the coast, notepad in hand, no distractions (other than a rather disconcerting sewage smell, only ever smelt on that of the coast of an Essex beach)

So here we are ......

I've been drawing, painting and experimenting with every art medium since primary school. After leaving secondary education I spent a further three years studying art and design.

More recently I have branched into the medium of resin.

Resin is popular for its glossy glass like effect and multiple layers can be combined in each piece to create wonderful depth and effect. I use various inks, mica powders and pigments within my pieces which allows for endless possibilities.

Resin is both challenging and she is most certainly a DIVA!!

Not one to give up, my resilience has never waned and I continually strive to achieve the amazing, stunning and beautiful results that resin art can ultimately bring.

'Never EVER give up'

The name of 'Artist in the Attic' was born from the obvious - my studio began its life in the loft conversion of our home. However, I soon outgrew it and due to the fact that I'm often emerged materials requiring 'exothermic' reactions, therefore, lots of fire, heat guns and blow torches, we decided, it would be safer - for everyone - to build some sort of structure as far away from the house as possible so damage limitation was kept to, well, myself really.

So, I'm ..... Artist in the Attic (at the bottom of the garden)

I'm happy to take on any commissions in oil, acrylic or watercolours. Please feel free to message me and peruse my examples of previous work.
